Voting RePUGnican?                     Download PDF

Like a herd of rabid pachyderms the republican party, taken over by racist arrogance, egotistical nut cases and the “I don't give a shit about the American people” elitists, is stampeding our country into the dirt. President Obama promised a bi-partisan cabinet and he delivered on such a promise with including republicans as well as Democrats into his cabinet. However, it's quite obvious to me that republicans are voting against the very things they promised to support, probably even got elected because they said they would say yes, when in fact, they said “no”. The GOP, the Grumpy Old People, Guardians Of Provincialism, the oh so wonderful Gang Of Puerility has no interest in helping the American people at all. All they care about is regaining power to take us back to the tarnished years of Bush-co. They vote not for the people, but against the current administration because even if they get what they have always wanted, if goes on Obama's record during his Presidency.

Cases in point:

1: Representative Mark Kirk of Illinois sided with his fellow republicans and went back on his promise to help small businesses by voting against a bill to promote lending and provide tax breaks.

2: This past week, we saw republican obstruction in the Senate to block passing bills to end “Don't Ask, Don't Tell, the DREAM act which provides pathways to citizenship through military service. Both were parts of the Military Defense Bill. It's no surprise that John McCain reneged his promise to end DADT if the military supported it. After the nations two top defense officials called for it's end... he voted against the repeal. After all, he is a republican.

3: Republicans included in their “no” vote a bill to cover medical coverage for 9-11 first responders that would reopen a victim compensation fund and provide medical monitoring of those exposed to toxic elements at ground zero.

4: Lets not forget that during the Bush Years, When they were in the Majority, they wanted a so called “nuclear option” against filibusters. They even wanted to end the entire concept of filibusters. HOWEVER... suddenly they are the minority and it's filibuster left and right, every chance they get.

5: The republicans claim to be financially conservative, Buuuuuuuttt, oh did they ever create our current economic crisis and recession. In 2006, the senate voted 52 to 48 to raise the debt ceiling by $781 BILLION, creating a debt, at the time, of 8.97 TRILLION. Every Democrat voted against it. In five years, the republicans, under Bush-co, took a budget surplus left by President Bill Clinton and trashed the poor thing. Bush himself lobbied to raise the debt ceiling 6 times.

6: After creating the economic crisis, the republicans are quick to vote against extending unemployment benefits to Americans. All they seem to be able to say is that the problem needs to be fixed to get people back to work. Republicans have been the masters of providing words, but that's all. They've delivered nothing else.

In truth, they've obstructed over and over again to make the entire Obama administration and Democrats look bad, so they can turn around to the American Citizens and LIE to their faces that the Administration is doing nothing. To them, it's not about the people, it's about their pride, their jobs, and their power. They have crapped on us far too long. Come November, my pen will not darken the box next to a rePUGnican.
